Pre-installed PV Box Transformers Deployed in Large Ground PV Plants to Secure Grid Connection of Photovoltaic Power
Integrated pre-installed PV box transformers have been installed and put into operation at a large centralized photovoltaic project in mountain desert area. Designed with container-style modular enclosure, the equipment integrates high-voltage power distribution, transformer and low-voltage outgoing cabinet, with reserved expansion ports for energy storage system, fully satisfying voltage boost requirements of large-area PV arrays.
Different from traditional civil-built substations, all pre-assembly and debugging work of this box transformer is finished in factory. On-site construction only needs finished foundation, which greatly shortens the construction period of PV power plants. The cabinet shell adopts anti-corrosion outdoor sheet metal to withstand drastic temperature fluctuation and frequent sandstorm in Gobi & mountain regions, with standard high-voltage warning signs mounted externally to improve operational safety.
For daily maintenance, separated cabin door design divides high/low voltage compartments for convenient inspection and troubleshooting. Currently, this series of pre-installed box transformers has been widely applied in northwest desert centralized PV bases and mountain photovoltaic projects, acting as core facility to boost PV power and feed electricity into power grid, boosting the large-scale development of new-energy photovoltaic industry.
